Today I had to wait until everyone was in bed to squeeze in some yoga! With Jake still recovering from his allergic reaction to penicillin, and my older kids being worn out from being sick off and on, we needed to just chill today.
So at about 2/3 of the way through today’s practice my poor puppy got put in his place by our older female lab. Poor guy needed a little TLC before I could resume the practice! So I loved on him for a while and then continued onward while he snoozed beside me.
“SHAKTI (or Prakriti) means energy, power, movement, change, nature. It is the maternal principle – the provider, abundance. In the human as well as in the animal kingdom the mother offers nourishment, warmth and security. There is no greater love than the love of a mother.”
When I read the title I was like “what IS shakti?!” And so I thought I’d include a little yoga for the brain with some fun terminology and a link to a page with some good info if you’re interested!
Today felt good! We did our first goddess pose which was…….man oh man!!!!!!! It burned in my THIGHS (but burned so GOOD!)
I love that Adriene keeps it fun and light hearted. It makes it easy to be mindful of breathing and even helps me push myself farther then I typically go. She is so positive and encouraging!!!
So what has been your favorite day so far? Mine was probably when we focused on meditation. It felt good to melt away the day and it’s amazing how much I needed that.
I need to re-incorporate meditation back into my life!! Why not?!
